2008 Presidential Elections=Make 'em Dance

Just a thought . . .

over these past few months, part of me has actually felt sorry for these candidates who've been campaigning their little hearts out, trying to snag our votes, and we've seen them dance and tap and sing their way across the stage, and my sympathy does go out to them, because it does seem like they are doing their best to play to us. Especially to the new generation, tied to the Internet, blogging much more than actually conversing, and desiring nothing more substantive than the glossy show of colored lights and bleepers.

and Yes, I'm ragging on all of us.

We make these candidates primp and pomp like champion showdogs, with us as the judges, lifting up their tails and saying, BEST OF SHOW . . .

But, after a moment, my sympathy wanes as I realize that these guys (and gal!) are competing for such a coveted brass ring, and whoever gets in there is going to have US by the short hairs for the next 4 years (at least!) Add to that the fact that once they get in there, they will actually have to face about a dozen other world leaders who actually have the power to blast us to oblivion (either militarily or economically), then you see that we, the American voting public, really shouldn't be so difficult a bunch opponent after all. In fact, instead of looking so tired and fatigued, they should really seem refreshed and energetic at every possible moment.

Because WE won't be their toughest opponent. That JOB will be much harder than schmoozing over 150million voters.

So, after a moment's sympathy, I come right back and say . . .

In 2008 - Make 'em dance! It the only time we'll get the chance.
